Mission
|
Macon County Habitat For Humanity, Inc. is a nonprofit ministry
dedicated to building simple, decent houses with community
volunteers in partnership with qualified families currently living
in inadequate housing.
|
Values
|
We believe…
|
- Housing is a foundation stone on which human development
occurs.
Every woman, man, and child deserves a safe, decent,
affordable home regardless of
where they live in the world
- The interaction of volunteers, donors, and partner families
enhances the spirit of community.
- People need capital, not charity - hand up, not a hand-out.
Houses are purchased at cost with interest-free loans.
Every partner family invests unpaid labor into home
production.
Paying for a home gives dignity to people.
- People from all walks of life, working together to achieve a
common goal, create life-changing partnerships.
- By living out these fundamental values, persons and
communities are empowered.
